Souvenir lighters in the shape of a gun are very popular, because they look very original. That's only on sale today mainly found in Chinese consumer goods, whose service life is 1-2 months, and sometimes even less. Higher quality products are expensive - there is not always the opportunity to buy them.
However, a souvenir gun lighter can be made independently using available materials. The design of this homemade product is very simple - it is a metal case, in which there is a conventional gas lighter with a piezoelectric element. Having at hand a lathe or, as an option, a familiar turner, making such a souvenir is not difficult.
Lighter-gun: the main stages of work
To make the first part, you will need a piece of a thick-walled tube 10 cm long. We process the workpiece on a lathe. Then, from the steel disc, we make the front and back “plugs”. In the first you need to make a hole (to simulate the gun barrel), and the second - will have a hemispherical shape for better ergonomics of the product.
At the next stage, it is necessary to press the front and back “plugs” into a thick-walled tube using a press or a regular stud with a nut (the old-fashioned method). Between them there will be a spring-loaded cover that will not allow dirt to get inside, and will also simulate the shutter of a lighter-gun.
Next, we drill several holes in a thick-walled pipe and make long grooves on top and assembly. Then, from the duralumin sheet, it is necessary to make a handle (it is better to do the work on a milling machine) and assemble the lighter-gun.
