Factory magnetic masses are very expensive. Why spend money when you can make such a lot with your own hands. To do this, you need a neodymium one magnet from the old hard drive, as well as a piece of the profile pipe.
The advantages of this magnetic mass are compactness and practicality. Moreover, the contact itself occurs through the metal, and not through the magnet (it is recessed in the profile pipe and does not touch the surface of the workpiece).
In general, if you often use a welding machine, then this homemade product will come in handy, moreover, you can make it from available materials, and this will not take much time.
Of the basic materials for work, you will need: a profile of 15x15 mm, a bolt with an M6 nut, a spring washer (grover), as well as a neodymium magnet and a welding cable.
The manufacturing process of magnetic mass
A neodymium magnet from a PC hard drive fits freely into a 15x15 mm pipe. We insert it into the profile and cut everything that is 3-4 mm higher. You can use a hacksaw for metal, but it will be faster than a grinder.
At the next stage, we drill a hole in the professional pipe under the "shank" of the welding cable. It is convenient to use a stepped drill for metal. We connect the cable with the M6 bolt to the nut, cut off all the excess. Homemade ready.
