Not everyone can afford to buy a hand router in a workshop. However, it can be made with your own hands from a small angle grinder. This, of course, is not a panacea, but for certain works this homemade product will fit perfectly. Such an economical option.

For the manufacture of a manual milling cutter, a drill chuck is required. A nut must be welded to it so that it can be screwed onto the gearbox shaft. In this case, it is important to weld the nut as evenly as possible, without distortions, so that there is no beating.

By the way, the master draws attention to the fact that a grinder with a drill chuck can be used not only as a manual milling cutter, but also as a drill. That is, you can easily install a drill or a crown, and drill holes in the workpieces.

The main stages of work

At the next stage, the master saws off two wooden blocks of the same size, and makes eyelets in them. After that, the bars will need to be fixed with bolts on the sides of the gear housing of the angle grinder.

Next, the master cuts a “donut” from the board, which must be screwed to the ends of the bars for self-tapping screws. Alternatively, this part can be made of plywood.

Then it remains only to connect the two bars with a jumper in the upper part to make the structure more rigid. We install a suitable cutter, and you can experience homemade work.

The process of manufacturing a hand mill from a small angle grinder with your own hands is recommended to watch in the video on the site.
