From a manual screw jack and a channel, you can make homemade bench vice for a home workshop or in a garage. To work, you will need a grinder (angle grinder) and a welding machine.
First of all, it will be necessary to cut off a small piece from the channel with a grinder. A screw jack must be welded to it.
Further, the author cuts off two more pieces of the channel - from them will be made the clamping lips of a homemade vice. Then on these blanks you need to make diagonal notches.
The main stages of work
At the next stage, the author cuts off another piece of the channel, to which the jack is welded. After that, you need to weld the vise clamping jaws.
Next, you will need to cut two pieces of the corner and drill into them two holes. The author welds these corners at the ends of the bed on which the vise is located. Thus, this design can be fixed on the table.
Then it remains only to strip the metal with a grinder and make a L-shaped knob so that the jack screw can be rotated. It can be made from a long bolt or from a regular round bar.
