I give you a drawing of a bag with dimensions. This is a tried and tested option. It easily includes a smartphone in a small pocket, a bag for unplanned purchases, glasses or a reader is placed in the back large pocket, and the front one has a large wallet, wet wipes and anything else.
To sew a bag, we need any fabric, thin or thick, a dense tape for a handle and welt, three snakes. Snakes can be secret and common. It does not matter.
We decompose the patterns on the fabric, observing the location of the shared thread,
and cut the parts with an allowance for seams of 0.5 cm from the edge.
Additionally, cut the pocket, in the photo I show where to sew the snakes later.
To sew a snake, we pin it with English pins to the front of the pocket
and scribble right on the needles.
Then we cross the snake across the face
And we take a welt from the front side, picking up or making folds at the corners.
We attach the second part of the pocket face to face, fix with needles and attach, retreating from the edge of a half-centimeter.
We cut off the excess snake and turn it on the face.
We put the back of the pocket on the front and embroider a zigzag stitch for beauty. If the fabric is thin - you can simply tuck and sew.
Now you need to sew the snakes to the front of the bag. Sew the snakes in different directions, in the finished product they will look in one direction.
Attach both snakes and draw a decorative stitch. Then we attach a pocket with needles and attach.
Now we are starting to design the front, even I would say the top of our product. To do this, you need to pin the tape cut off for the handle to the middle, enough to carry the bag over your shoulder. And then, with the needles, fix the tape along the contour of the part to form a piping. Why exactly with needles? The marking does not always hold the edge well when wrapping, the needles in this regard are ideal, and faster.
Here I want to remind you right away that you need to sew on small pieces of Velcro on both sides of the whole part of the bag, as shown in the drawing. We put the part with Velcro face to face on the part with the pocket (by no means the other way around) and fix it with needles in the center and other parts close to the edge. It is not necessary to fix along the edge itself, there a sufficiently rigid edge has already formed.
We sew the part along the entire contour, leaving nothing anywhere. We sew along the whole part, departing from the edge of 0.5 cm. Then we open one of the snakes and carefully twist it, removing the needles. Whoever forgot to sew Velcro can do it manually, like me. There is nothing terrible in this.
Our handbag is ready. Use with pleasure.
