Do you like juicy steaks or grilled chicken breasts, or often experiment with cooking other meat delicacies at home? Then you will certainly find it convenient and practical to use wooden tongs for turning meat and fish, which you can do yourself.

Believe me, this will not take much time, but save money, because the material for the tongs is always at hand. To make a set of five tongs, you need a piece of a rectangular board (you can use birch, beech, acacia, aspen or other wood species). Also, for work, you will need carpentry glue and furniture dowels to connect parts.

Stages of work: preparation and gluing

We take a suitable piece of the board, mark and cut to size. Round off the ends on a belt grinder. Then dissolve the workpiece on rails with a thickness of about 4-5 mm. To make a set of five tongs, you need ten rails. Also cut wedge-shaped cubes. We grind all prepared parts so that their surface is even and smooth.

After machining in two approaches, we glue the rails with “wedges” - in the end, five tweezers should be obtained. We drill two holes at the junction and hammer in them the furniture dowels, which must first be generously greased with glue. After drying, we cut off all the excess, grind and make notches at the ends of the forceps.

The result is simple wooden tongs, which will be convenient to turn meat and fish on the grill or pan. They can also be used to mix salads and spaghetti. In any kitchen they will find application.
