Homemade kayak can be made from available materials at hand. To implement this idea, ordinary branches will be required (it is better to use acacia, since the tree is highly flexible), as well as cling film and scotch tape. Branches can be found without problems in the forest, and film and scotch tape cost a penny, so you can make a kayak almost "for free."
The main stages of work
First of all, you need to cut branches of suitable thickness and length, after which we clear them of shoots with leaves and thorns. Then we lay the long branches aside, and do the short rods - from them you need to bend the rings of different diameters. You can bend the branches both on the knee, and in a more convenient way, using a tree trunk for this purpose.
After the branch is bent into a ring, its edges must be fixed with tape. At the same time, note that for kayaking it is best to use "paired" rings, that is, consisting of two branches. In this case, the boat frame will be more rigid and durable. Between themselves, the branches are also attached using tape.
Frame Assembly Process
At the next stage, we connect three large rings at right angles to each other. It will also require four medium and four small rings. Now we take long branches and begin to assemble the frame of the kayak, tightly connecting the branches with tape. For greater reliability, you can use reinforced tape.
