In order for the bathtub (steel, acrylic or cast iron) to serve you for many years, you need to install it correctly. And for this it is necessary to observe the installation technology. In this review, we will talk about the most common mistakes that are made when installing a bath in an apartment or house.

Incorrect slope of the sewer pipe

If the slope of the pipe is incorrect, then when draining, the outflow of water will be weak (the water will leave very slowly or will not leave at all). To avoid this, it is necessary to ensure the correct slope of the sewer pipe - ideally maintain the slope of the pipe within 3 cm per 1 meter.

Incorrect bath mount

It's no secret that bathtubs are different both in form and in the materials from which they are made. Therefore, their installation methods are slightly different. For example, acrylic bathtubs are mounted on a metal frame, which is mounted on self-tapping screws.

Please note that the standard legs that come with steel bathtubs are very flimsy. Therefore, in this case, it is better to abandon them, and install the bath on a “pillow” made of bricks or blocks.

Incorrect sealing of the bath to the wall

Sealing should be done only when the bath is loaded (that is, filled with water). Otherwise, if the joint is treated with sealant when the bath is empty, then when filling it with water, shrinkage will inevitably occur and the seam will become leaky.
