The author suggests using a home-made rotating stand-podium made of wood for various demonstrations. However, such a homemade product can also simply be used as a home decoration.
For the manufacture of a rotating podium stand, you will need boards made of oak or other wood, a 220 V gear motor, as well as a wire with a plug and a switch and 608th bearings.
First of all, the master aligns the ends of the boards for further gluing, but you can also purchase ready-made even oak boards in the store, and then the need for this intermediate operation will disappear.
The main stages of work
After the ends are aligned, it will be necessary to glue two panels from the blanks (three boards in each panel). For gluing boards, you can use ordinary wood glue - PVA or its equivalent. Shields are clamped by long clamps.
After the glue dries, the author aligns the plane of the shields on the thicknessing machine. In the next step, it will be necessary to cut two circles of the same diameter. Using a hand mill, the master smoothes the edges of the workpieces.
Next, you need to embed three bearings in one of the circles (the base of the homemade product). Then the master also makes a recess in the center of the base for installing the engine. All this can be done with a manual milling cutter.
