For a convenient, quick and most importantly - safe removal of springs from automobile shock absorbers in a garage, it is best to use special devices (racks) that will facilitate the work.

Factory models are not cheap. Yes, and why overpay if there is always an alternative? For example, you can make your own homemade device for removing springs from a mechanical jack.

The first step is to extend the jack stand by 2–3 times. To do this, the master first cuts off the supporting nickel, and welds a section of the profile pipe of the desired length to the rack.

The main stages of work

Then, the base of the jack will need to be welded to the bottom of the profile. Next, a flywheel is welded to it (it is advisable to choose one so that the inner hole is slightly larger in diameter than the supporting part itself).

Next, with the help of a grinder, you need to cut off the regular hook on the jack, and instead weld a U-shaped piece welded from pieces of the profile.

Then, in the upper part of the jack, it will be necessary to make another hook, but already from a metal plate 7 mm thick.

In principle, in the lower part the hook can also be made of thick metal - then the design itself will turn out to be more reliable.

Then it remains only to clean the device with a grinder and paint. A more detailed process of manufacturing a device for removing springs from car shock absorbers is recommended to watch in the video on our website.
