Sharpening the teeth of a circular saw is a tedious task. In this review, the author shares the idea of how to automate the process of sharpening a circular saw in a home workshop and garage.
To make this device, you will need a grinder, a 12V electric motor, bearings, pieces of plywood, furniture guides, a power plug, a power button, etc.
First of all, it is necessary to cut out a piece of square shape from a plywood sheet - a platform for the saw blade. In it, it will be necessary to drill a hole for the bearing into which a shaft with a clamping nut is inserted.
At the bottom of this platform, the author makes a marking and drills four holes, after which he fastens two furniture rails. As a result, the platform will be mobile.
The main stages of work
The platform for the circular saw is mounted on two bars of plywood, which are screwed to the base. We check the operability of this part of the structure, and we can proceed to the next stage.
After that, a piece of plywood with a seat for an electric motor should be screwed to the base (at a certain distance from the site). Then the engine is installed, and fixed with a clamp.
At the last stage, the author makes a reciprocating mechanism from pieces of plywood and bearings, which connects the platform to the motor shaft.
