In this review, the author shows the process of making a protein feeder. You can make it from plywood or the remnants of the board.
Such a homemade product can come in handy both in the summer cottage and in the territory of a private house, if squirrels live nearby.
An interesting mechanism is implemented in the design of the feeder. In order for the squirrel to get to the container with nuts, it needs to step on the pedal, after which the lid will open.
The main stages of work
The first step is to cut the workpieces of the required size for the manufacture of the feeder.
At the next stage, in two wooden blanks, it is necessary to make grooves along the entire length. The author does this operation on a circular saw.
Next, we drill holes in the blanks according to the marking, then we cut the blanks from plexiglass, suitable in size, and cut off a piece of the piano loop.
After that, we proceed directly to the assembly process. First, the master makes the main part of the feeder.
Then, with the help of a piano loop, a lid is attached to the body.
We insert a piece of plexiglass into the grooves in the side walls of the case, and then we fasten the pedal. It should rise and fall freely.
Using a strip of plexiglass, we connect the pedal to the lid.
