Usually, knives or daggers are made from Damascus steel. But in this case, the author decided to do something unconventional - to make pliers for the workshop from damask steel.
Of course, working with such an instrument is pleasant, but a pity, because the pliers look really very beautiful and unusual.
However, they can be handed to the male master, and this will be a great gift. And what do you think?
The manufacturing process of damask pliers is no less interesting than the finished product. One feels a non-standard creative approach of the master to work.
The main stages of work
First you need to cut the metal plates of the right size. Then the master puts them together and welds.
At the next stage, the author proceeds directly to the production of damask steel.
From the obtained metal bar, the master makes blanks for pliers handles.
Using an angle grinder, the author gives the workpiece the necessary shape.
It should be noted that most of the work is forging metal.
Curved handles and clamping jaws of pliers are also the result of hot forging. The job is not easy, of course, but it's worth it.
The last stages of the work, perhaps not as labor-intensive as forging, but also require patience and perseverance.
