The result of the repair depends on what floors you have. Existing defects and irregularities will affect the coating, especially if it is linoleum. Parquet flooring will require absolute flatness. You can list a lot of flooring, which must be laid on a quality foundation. It is not possible to lay them out qualitatively if you do not level the base. The final layer of the whole process of work is their screed.
Reinforced concrete slab for the floor has two sides. One serves as a ceiling and has a smooth surface embedded in the manufacturing process. The second - has a large number of bumps and defects. These may be metal overhangs of reinforcement, recesses and bulges. The screed can be done on the ground and on a wooden base.
Preparatory work.
To align the defects of the reinforced concrete slab, you need to have an hatchet, scraper and a hair brush. Cut down all the bulges and protruding reinforcement. Drain the base of the plate and prime. The use of silica-modified liquid glass in the primer allows the composition to remain in its original state. Cover the stove with this solution, and you will be sure that you will not flood the neighbors of the lower floor. Cracks and indentations must be repaired before you begin to fill with leveling mixtures.
The choice of material for the screed.
Construction markets have a large selection of dry mixes, supplemented with hardeners and plasticizers. Finished sand and cement compositions in proportion, can be used for screed. The dry mixture "smooth floors" will facilitate your work process, as it is self-leveling.
Screed execution technology.
Perform screed, leveling the floors, or pouring water and electric tape heating systems. For work, it is necessary to use beacons, installing them at a distance of no more than a meter. Using the level, make marks on them that will show the maximum level of pouring the solution. Work is carried out from one of the walls, moving to the exit. When laying the solution, it is necessary to level and tamp. You will get high-quality floors if you use two types of mixtures at the same time. The first is for leveling, the second is the finish. All formulations are based on cement. Therefore, they must be stored in a dry place and be guided by the recommendations indicated on the package.

The term of use of dry mixes has time limits. Diluted compounds change their consistency, so work is done immediately after they are combined with water. Self-leveling mixes are effective for small areas. They can evenly close floors without beacons. When working with large areas, without them, quality work cannot be done.
In the process of using the usual compositions of sand and cement, it is necessary to stretch the cord over the entire floor area to the beacons in the places of marks made by the level. It is recommended to close finished floors with polyethylene, ensuring gradual hardening. Beacons should be fixed on the floor with alabaster or a thick cement mortar. Do not work at low or high temperatures. Cracked floors are defective.

Using a semi-dry screed, you must be guided by the rules of technology. The mixture is laid, compacted and leveled. Control beacons should be present with this method. Do not trust your intuition, it can let you down. Supplement the water by spraying it at the end of the whole process. The quality of work will not suffer from this.
When carrying out work, you can use mortar beacons. To do this, at the calculated level, heap the solution at the set mark, which should freeze. This method does not require the elimination of holes remaining after pouring. Or remove standard structures from the grout after tamping and leveling as it moves along the base of the floor.

In some cases, to ensure a thick layer of screed, use a reinforced mesh. She will improve the quality of work.
Compliance with the technology of work, guided by the recommendations indicated on the packaging, you can do the screed floors yourself. The whole further process of flooring depends on it.
